PRESS RELEASE
08 June 2023 | Luxembourg, Luxembourg: PEDAL Consulting, s.r.o., together with nine consortium partners from Europe, launched a new initiative “OPerando analyses and modelling of INterface dynamics and CHARGE transport in lithium-ion batteries” during the kick-off meeting in Luxembourg. The project aspires to advance battery innovation for clean, affordable and secure energy production and transport technologies. For its implementation, the European Commission allocated the sum of € 5.726.990 under its Horizon Europe programme.
The OPINCHARGE initiative is coordinated by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. In co-operation with project partners, they will dive into better understanding of processes happening at atomic levels in the batteries’ interfaces and interphases.
The main objectives of the project are as follows:
The OPINCHARGE project will be implemented for 3 years. It will help manufacturers produce safe and long-lasting batteries. In such a way, it will be possible to diminish their carbon footprint, and contribute to a clean and sustainable industrial transition of the battery industry.
